William H. Powell Jr.

William Henry Powell Jr.,  (A.K.A.) "Bro," age 67, of 153 Blue Demon Drive in Elkhorn, West Virginia, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in Kyle, West Virginia.

William was born in Yonkers, New York on January 5, 1958 and the son of William Sr., and Della K. Powell.  He was a graduate of Northfork High School. After being employed for 33 years at the McDowell County Board of Education, he retired as a Maintenance Clerk.  He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

In addition to his parents, William Sr., and Della, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth A. Powell; his maternal grandparents, Clinton and Sally Ferguson and paternal grandparents, Henry and Queen Powell and one nephew, Rodney Powell.

William "Bro," leaves memories of his life to his sisters, Rannetta J. Powell and Brenda J. Powell both of Elkhorn and an adopted sister, Mary Redd of Georgia;  one uncle, Reverend Jerome and aunt, Evangelist Sharon Powell and aunt, Loretta Powell; three nieces:  Traci, Karima and Rashea and one nephew, William E. Powell; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; a host of cousins; which includes his caregiver, Victor Helm of Kyle.    

William's Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Upland Baptist Church with Pastor Dane Moore presiding and Pastor Jerome Powell eulogist.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, until the time of Service at the Church.  Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.
